Bill Gates

He is arguably one of the richest men in the world, an entrepreneur, and philanthropist, owns world’s largest and most successful software company in the world called Microsoft. He is none other than world renowned Bill Gates.

According to Bill gates’ biography, he was born on the 28th of October in the year 1955 in Seattle back in Washington D C in the United States of America. Just like most success stories, Gates had a passion for computers since the age of 13.

It was while in school that Bill gates met his future friend and co founder of Microsoft Paul Allen. The duo went on to develop a computer program called Traf o dat, with hopes of their son taking after his father by studying law, Bill gates was enrolled at Harvard University although it is claimed that he hardly went for lectures and opted to spending time in the computer laboratory.

It was in this same computer laboratory that Bill and Allen came up with another software formula that earned Allen a job with a computer company called MITS. Not long after, Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and joined his fellow bosom buddy Allen who had also dropped out of University earlier.

By the year 1978, Microsoft was born and as they say-the rest is history as the company went on a broad software production. Bill Gates automatically became the overall head with Allen serving as the executive vice president of Microsoft. It was not long after that Allen was diagnosed with cancer and this saw him relish his duties with Microsoft by resigning. This was all after grueling and intensive treatment for the cancer.

The company soon thereafter introduced windows operating system that was launched in 1985. A year after launching window’s-Microsoft was taken public around 1986 and put on the initial public offering a move that saw him through becoming a billionaire.

It was almost around the same time that Bill Gates lost his mother who succumbed to breast cancer. Bill Gates and his wife started an initiative whereby he would give back some of his wealth towards charity in respect to the roles of his departed mother who was a prolific civic leader.

This saw the bath of Bill-Melinda Gates foundation that supports world health especially the African continent, education and a helping hand towards low income communities. In 2000, he decided to step down from day to day operations of Microsoft and handed over the mantle to his Harvard college friend Steve Ballmer.

For all his efforts, Microsoft is still a leading business entity and his reign shall be felt for ages even after he is gone from real life. Bravo to Bill Gates and the whole team at Microsoft, the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
