Timothy Cook - Apple C.E.O

When the iconic American C.E.O and innovation champion Steve Jobs passed away on October 5th, 2011, apple product users, investors in the company and speculators went into a rabid frenzy on whether would wither the storm of retaining its market sales after the death of Steve Jobs.

Prior to Steve Jobs’ death, the I-phone four had just been unveiled by apple and it is roughly the same time that he had handed over the mantle to a senior apple executive Timothy Cook who was the chief operating officer.

In his role as chief of operations at apple, Timothy Cook was responsible for Apple’s worldwide sales and operations. It is under this portfolio that he was sorely responsible for the management of Apple’s supply chain inclusive of support and service in all markets around the globe.

In terms of education, Timothy Cook has a science degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University in the United States and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Duke University.

He has a considerable wealth of experience from his previous jobs and roles such as the 12years he worked for IBM, Compaq, and Intelligent electronics. With this kind of wealth and self belief, Steve Jobs couldn’t have been more right in handing over the realm of Apple to this promising geek.

In a record few months since he was handed the mantle as Chief Executive Officer of Apple, Timothy Cook has steered the company to greater heights. As of 27th of January 2012, exactly five months since he took over the company, Apple has an estimated $98billion in cash all due to sales of its products worldwide. It is estimated that Apple every Apple share is $104 in cash as of now.

For such a great performance for a new C.E.O, he deserves a pat on the back. So far the current product credited to Timothy Cook is the I-phone 4s that was the parting shot from Steve Jobs before his death.

According to Macworld.com, Tim Cook in no stranger to the C.E.O position at Apple Inc. It is on record that in all the times when Steve Jobs took leave especially medical leave before he died, it was always Timothy Cook who took over running of the company.
One such time was in 2004 when he stepped in for Steve Jobs during his treatment for pancreatic cancer.  A man known for his strong detail oriented approach- more success is to be expected from his leadership at apple.

Timothy Cook was recruited in 1998 by Steve Jobs himself. More is yet to be seen on how successful he will be with his upcoming ventures and innovations towards the success of Apple.
